Ruth Ann is an entrepreneur, producer, videographer, writer and marketing executive who has worked with a wide variety of technology companies in an advertising career that spans more than a quarter-century. For the last eight years she is applying what she learned from marketing mission critical applications to advancing the voices of sustainability on behalf of Mother Earth and her children using the WorldWideWeb., Voices of Sustainability is her third start-up.

Presently she is consulting with Paul Steinbroner, Founder of CNS Productions, the leader since 1981 in drug education  to reposition the company from primarily producing and marketing educational films and publications to inspirational films focusing on community building - connection - as critical to recovery.   Paul is working on a six part series, Called from Darkness and has just released the first segment, Homeboy Joy Ride featuring Father Greg Boyle and his community of former gang members - men and women.

Direct Marketing
In 1994 as founder of an independent San Francisco direct marketing agency, RED Direct, and  with years on the client side with industry leaders HP, Sun, ComputerLand, and Informix Software, her team produced campaigns with exceptional response rates from executive level decision-makers for start-up companies to include WebEx, Commerce One, Red Hat, Ask, Juniper Networks. 

Video and Social Media

Pioneering the use of database driven campaigns, landing pages, and websites, she is very grounded in digital media as is evident in her presence on social media, especially YouTube. Since 2007 she has produced and published nearly 150 video interviews with people making a difference in business, the social sector, and government as Earthsayers and another 80+ videos around local citizen activism under the moniker,  PDXdowntowner.  EarthSayers remains the only thought leadership platform addressing people, planet and prosperity that is all video. It serves as a specialized search engine.


Neighborhood-based website projects include One Hundred and One Dogs process for petitioning the Mayor and Commissioners for a dog park here in Old Town Chinatown, Portland, Oregon while improving the image of the place as well as that of the residents who live here.  Ruth Ann has worked to reposition her neighborhood as one of caring, Portland's Caring Community, rather than the entertainment district, to better reflect the major industry here and the predominance of supportive housing and shelters for the homeless.  In March, 2018 a proposal for a consumer review platform and community for and by renters grew out of an identified need to empower renters as buyers.
